Hello everybody! In today's craft we are going to see how to do three original bookends to decorate our shelves. They look great in the dining room or hallway or wherever you want to put your books and will undoubtedly make a difference compared to other conventional bookends.

Do you want to see what they are like and how to make them?

Materials that we will need to make our three original bookends

  • Glass jar with lid
  • Assorted stones
  • Smooth candle of a showy color like apple green
  • Rope
  • Hot glue or silicone
  • Cardboard

Hands on craft

1. Stone bookends

A bookend made with stones that you can collect from the field, the river or buy decorative stones. Is very simple to make and is very curious as a cascade of stones. You just have to gradually arrange them and stick them with the help of a cardboard. And put stones until we get a result that we like.

In addition, you can incorporate any figure between the stones and even some artificial flower or succulent.

You can see how to make this bookend step by step here: Rock bookends, quick to make

2. Bookend candle

This bookend, like the next one, is even easier to make.

You will need a candle, it is the same if it is round, square ... as long as it is high, at least 15-20 cm. This way we make sure that it holds the books well and they do not knock down the candle.

To make this bookend you just have to wrap a piece of string around the candle for a special touch and ready. You can tie the rope with a knot or roll it more neatly by gluing it together.

If you want to see how to make a candle yourself, I recommend this craft: Rustic orange candle

3. Bookend candy jar

For the ultimate bookend we will need a glass jarYou can choose any that you have at home or buy one of those jars that have a glass lid and a hermetic closure that are very beautiful.

All you have to do is fill the jar with candies, chocolates, gum, etc. .. of different colors and textures in the wrappers.

And ready!

I hope you cheer up and do this craft.
