Today I come with a very easy craft to do: let's see how to make a leaf shaped tray. It can be used to leave the keys when entering the house, to place the ring or bracelets on the bedside table, or simply as a decoration.
Makings:
- Natural leaves.
- Modeling paste.
- Knife or awl.
- Two thin wooden sticks.
- Brown acrylic paint.
- White acrylic paint.
- Roller.
- Varnish.
- Scrap of fabric.
- Sandpaper.
- Bowl or deep plate.
Processing:
- The first will be look for a large size sheet, one is needed for each tray.
- Cut a piece of modeling paste and knead a little.
- Place the pasta on a piece of cloth. Roll out the pasta with the help of a rolling pin, you can also use a cardboard roll of aluminum foil. Place the two skewer sticks around the pasta so that all the dough is the same thickness.
- Once you have the pasta stretched, place the sheet on it and press so that all the nerves of the sheet are marked.
- Cut off the leftover With an awl or with a knife, you see passing it around the entire contour of the blade.
- Take from the fabric, lift and place on a plate or a bowl, depending on the depth, so the tray will be afterwards. Let dry for more than twelve hours.
- Pass a sandpaper soft grain, especially around the contour of the tray.
- Apply a coat of brown paint, insisting on the indentations of the blade.
- Apply a layer of dry brushstroke of white color or cream all over the surface. To do this, wet the brush in the paint and remove the excess paint on a paper, apply gently, without rubbing on the surface. With this technique we will expose the nerves of the sheet, giving a more realistic effect.
- Apply a coat of varnish over the entire surface, both above and below.
Let it dry and you will have your leaf-shaped tray ready to use in the way you like best.
