Sanitizer storage bag

bag to store disinfectant

If you like to go out for a walk with the right objects, without bags or backpacks but with a small purse or wallet, here is a craft in the form of a small wallet. With this small bag made of fabric you can take your mobile or disinfectant and you can hang it in an area of your body or backpack and have it at hand.

This craft It is made and sewn manually and without a sewing machine. Most of the stitches cannot be seen to be handmade. Also, if it is the first time that you are going to sew by hand, this will be your best experience to learn to sew. I will also teach you to knit scallop, a stitch designed to give a nice appearance on the edge of any fabric. If you want to do everything indicated, in the video that we propose will be all better detailed.

The materials that I have used are:

  • decorative fabric
  • lining fabric
  • fabric with some fluffiness
  • sewing thread of the same or similar color
  • needle for sewing fine son
  • thicker yarn in a contrasting color for scallop knitting
  • a needle for the thickest son
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • Velcro (to close the bag) that can be glued, if it cannot be glued we can sew it or glue it with hot silicone
  • a button ornament
  • hook or piece to hang the bag

You can see this craft step by step in the following video:

First step:

We can start by taking measurements of the amount of fabric that we would need. I have cut out a rectangle of 20x20cm and then I have cut it in half. One of the parts we take measures to cut it, the other will be left longer because it will be the one that will form the flap. The piece of cloth that we have cut out we will hem it and sew it by hand.

Second step:

We take the pieces of fabric type lining and We cut them from the two measures of the other two pieces. We cut the fluffy piece of fabric to the same size as the large piece of fabric. We are going to sew it all together along its edges but we will do it in reverse so that the stitches are inwards. Conversely, I mean that they will have to have the fabrics in an order and place them upside down so that when the bag is turned over, everything is well placed. We mark the fabric with a pencil to limit the mouth of the disinfectant. This part will be open and not sewn. Therefore we sew around the entire bag minus the limited area.

Third step:

The part that will be the lapel will also we will make an inward auction by hand sewing. We can place the velcro, or we sew it or we stick it with its own adhesive or with hot silicone. We will sew the edges of the flap with a thicker thread and of a different color to make it stand out. We will do the festoon technique which will look much better on video.

Fourth step:

We check that the disinfectant works well for us. To finish we will place the decorative piece and we will place a hitch-shaped piece,  so we can hang the bag.
