Bird feeder

Hello everybody! In today's craft we are going to make a very simple bird feeder that we can hang on a tree in our garden, on our balcony, some window, etc.

I also propose make this mother and child craft as a different gift for mother's day: spend some time doing the craft and then observe how the birds come to eat.

Do you want to see how to do it?

Materials that we will need to make our bird feeder

  • A clean and dry carton of milk or a similar product.
  • A street stick or you can also use chopsticks or something similar, preferably made of wood.
  • Scissors and cutter.
  • Rope
  • Food: seeds, breadcrumbs etc.

Hands on craft

  1. Once we have our cardboard clean and dry, we are going to use the cutter and / or the scissors to make two openings on two of the sides. We will have something similar to the following:

  1. So that birds can perch more easily let's put a stick or chopsticks. To do this, we will make two holes just below the previous openings, 1 cm away from the edge more or less. It is important that the hole is as tight as possible so that the stick does not wobble too much and can fall.

  1. With rope we are going to make two handles. We tie the ends of a long piece of rope to close it and pass this through the opening part. To fix it better, we can make two cuts in the cardboard where to put the rope and get a better grip. Make sure that the knot is very strong so that it does not come undone easily.

And ready! We only have to put the food we have and hang it to observe how the birds go to the feeder.

I hope you cheer up and do this craft, to enjoy this experience together, mothers and children.
