Have you ever been given a wooden box with wines or cavas? The fact is that I did, and it had been there for a long time and I was sorry to throw it away! Today I found out what I was going to do with her, a little house for the birds. What I don't know very well is whether to leave it on a tree or hang it on a wall… So nothing, I'll show you how I did it while I keep thinking about where it can be better.
Materials
- Wooden box (or scraps of wood)
- Sierra
- Hammer
- Nails
- Taladro
- Wooden or plastic rod
- Painting
- Brush
Our Process
- First is cut the box in half. One of them, the one that is shorter, is the one that we are going to use as a casing and base to mount.
- Of the second, we take the bottom part and the front part. That is, what is between the two parallel sides.
- We do two holes in the front part. A large one for the birds and a small one where to place the rod. You don't need the very large hole. I did it because there are some (whose names I don't know) who sometimes come here, who I like and are quite big.
- In this case, we put the nails to the scraps that we have prepared in the carcass that we had ready.
- I have placed a total of 6 nails on the front and 4 on the side (2 and 2). It's enough.
- We give you a first coat of paint. If the hole that we made for the rod is covered, it does not matter, then when placing it, the paint comes out.
- Y we give the second layer, we put the rod, and we can let it rest until it dries.
And as I said, I don't know whether to place it in one place or another. I was going to paint it brown, simulating the tree trunk and for the wood. But I don't know, it gave me that the white was going to give the end more freshness, and in the end I am happy with the result. I hope you liked it. Now it's time to wait for a little bird to see it for sure and decide that it is a good home!
