How to make a chandelier by recycling a lamp base

Are you one of those who like to give another use to things that you no longer use? Do you resist throwing away that object that you do not use, but that has sentimental value for you? Well today I come with something that may interest you, well let's see how to make a chandelier by recycling a lamp base.

Well, as you can see, I resisted throwing it away and gave another use to that old table lamp that no longer worked, creating this totally recycled chandelier. Keep reading that I tell you.

Makings:

  • Lamp foot to recycle.
  • Pliers.
  • Brush.
  • Chalk pain paint.
  • Fine-grained sandpaper.
  • Modeling paste.
  • White glue.
  • Jute rope.
  • Scissors.

Creative process:

  • Take the lamp base and remove the mechanism, the cable, the bulb ... wipe with a damp cloth to remove any dust.
  • In these images you can see the before and after of our project.

  • Next with pliers remove the spring that held the lamp glass, do it carefully as it can jump when you release it from one side.
  • Paint a first coat with paint shawl paint, in my case white jasmine flower (not quite white). Let the paint dry.

  • Apply a second coat of paint and let it dry for a few hours.
  • With a soft greasy sandpaper, rub in areas strategic, so that it feels worn or vintage.

  • Now prepare the base where the candle will be located. For it apply white glue in the area where the candle will go and with the modeling paste you see making the platform circular and smooth.
  • To break that classicism a bit I have placed a jute rope in the narrow parts giving a few turns and tying with a knot. Cut the rest of the thread right at the knot.

Place a candle on top and you will have this special, unique and personalized candlestick ready !!!.
