Crafts for children: Piggy mask

Piggy mask

At children They love any way of interacting with parents, sharing that moment is priceless, neither for them, nor for us to see their happy faces. One of those moments could be when we tell them a story, like "the three little pigs", for example. Who does not bring good memories?

We can make the story much more intense if we also tell it by having piggy masks, made by ourselves and that can be used both for the story and for playing in general. You will share a pleasant moment with the children creating it, they will love it and they are very easy to do.

Necessary material

  • Empty petit suise container
  • Cardboard plate (you will find them in your usual supermarket)
  • Pink paint
  • Cardboard (for ears) also pink
  • Elastic band (to put it on the head)
  • Corrugated paper, cardboard or any type of red color (for the tongue)
  • Black marker
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to do it

We put the cardboard plate upside down and paint it with the pink paint, let it dry for several hours. Once dry, we will draw the mouth, the eyes and a sign of where the nose will go so that everything is symmetrical and well proportioned.

First we will cut the eyes with the scissors so that when placing the mask we can see.
The nose will be the glass of the petit suise that we have previously washed and dried. We will make two holes with the scissors. We will stick it on the indicated sign with glue.

Then we cut out on the red cardboard the shape of the tongue as we see in the photo, flush with the line of the mouth that we have drawn. And finally, we cut out the ears from the pink cardboard, in the shape of a triangle but with rounded beaks, simulating the ears of a pig. And we glue them to the mask.

All that remains is to let the glue from the petit suise container and the ears dry and put the elastic band that will allow us to put it on. For this we will make two small holes with a needle (wool or something thicker than usual so that the rubber can pass). We put it on and that's it. We already have our mask!
