Curtain clamp with rope and toothpick

In today's craft we are going to make a curtain clamp with rope and a chinese food toothpick, adopting a shape similar to that of a hair barrette. It is very easy to do and it is very beautiful.

Do you want to see how to do it?

Materials that we will need to make our curtain clamp

  • Thick rope, if you prefer you can use a colored rope, or a thinner rope, but the thinner the more complicated to do.
  • A toothpick of Chinese food that is pretty.
  • Hot glue gun

Hands on craft

  1. The first thing is to see how thick is the curtain that we want to collect with our clamp. For this we can pick up the curtain with our hands and thus get an idea of how big we have to make our clamp. This is important because if the clamp remains small or it will not help us or the curtain will be too tight and it will wrinkle. And if, on the contrary, it is too big, it will be lost and it will not serve us either.
  2. Once the measurement is approximately taken, we begin to wind the rope around itself, sticking it with hot silicone. It is important to select which side of our clamp will be visible to avoid remaining silicone residues on that side. We will give the rope a Oval shaped.

  1. When we have done a few laps we can check the size by putting it on the curtain, until we see that the size is adequate. To finish off the clamp we will give the rope one last turn, leaving a little gap at the narrow ends of our oval between the previous rounds and this last one creating two kinds of handles.

  1. To finish we cut the excess rope and we are going to hide the end of the rope back, fixing it well with hot silicone. And we remove the remains of hot silicone from the visible side with heat and greaseproof paper.
  2. We only have left take the toothpick and put our clamp on the curtain inserting the toothpick through the two handles and leaving the curtain in the middle of the circle created between the string and the toothpick.

And ready!

I hope you cheer up and do this craft.
