Decoupage: how to make a home wall clock

Today we are going to create a Wall Clock elegant inspired by the style of the thirties French bistro: the numbers painted by hand and a decoration obtained with oil paint.

First purchase a plywood circle 8 mm thick and 36 cm in diameter, tracing paper with the number of the hours, the mechanism of the clocks with both hands, acrylic paintings ivory, green, ocher, red, purple and yellow, flat and touch-up brushes, decoupage paper with floral motifs, water-based paint, flattening and neutral wax.

Paint the plywood face with uneven brush strokes of mixed colors between brown, red and yellow. Let dry and rub the candle wax over the entire surface. Cover the face with the ivory color and drawn a large crown about an inch and a half that is painted green.

Take the floor with the hours, rub the soft pencil on the back of the numbers so that they are traced. Place the sheet on the line back and forth through each number with the hard pencil to reproduce the hours.

Paint the numbers with a brush and black acrylic paint. Let it dry. Slightly scratched the face with coarse sandpaper in the poured sense. Then cut the paper object, glue on the line with the help of a rubber roller to remove air bubbles as in the picture.

Touch the color diluted with a few drops of retardant medium and mix with a foam sponge to dry. Aged with oil paint bitumen that needs to be removed.

After 48 hours, painted twenty coats of water-based paint, two flattening shields and after sanding, clean the neutral wax with # 000 steel wool. Drill a hole in the center of the sphere and put the inside of the mechanism with your hands. And work on decoupage it's ready.
