Differentiate the keys from the keychain in a simple way for children

Hi all! This craft is designed for children who begin to use keys and so that they can differentiate them, but it is also useful for those people who carry the keyrings full of keys and make their use easier.

Do you want to know how to do it?

Materials that we are going to need

  • Ring or key ring
  • keys
  • One strip of fabric or fabric tape per key (Each strip has a different color). If we don't have one, we can make them by cutting strips from an old t-shirt and stretching them so that they stay rolled up like a churrito.
  • Hot glue gun or strong glue

Hands on craft

  1. We take a strip and tie it to close it.
  2. We pass the strip through the key hole and leave it hooked as it can be seen in the image below.

  1. Then you just have to to tie a knot on another until we finish the length we want for the rope and leaving a free strap to be able to tie it to the ring of the keychain.

  1. Once finished We tie it to the ring and cut the excess. To prevent the knot from undoing it we will fix with hot silicone or strong glue that we have.

  1. We will repeat the whole process with the other keys, adding them to the same ring.
  2. If it was only a ring that does not ring with a keychain, we can make a quick keychain putting another strip caught on the ring through which we will pass balls and we will knot so that they come out.

And ready! Now it will be much easier to differentiate the keys. An extra trick is to put the tapes of the color of the doors that have to open or put all the tapes of the same color but insert balls of the color of the door that each of the keys has to open. There are many possibilities to make it more personal and to make it easier to choose the key.

I hope you cheer up and do this craft.
