One of the crafts that I like the most is modeling with polymer clay (better known as FIMO). For those who do not know what I am talking about, it is a paste similar to clay and that hardens in the oven. With it we can do anything we can think of, accessories, keychains, characters, etc.
In this case I propose through a tutorial to make a key chain of the mythical cartoon character Doraemon that will cause a sensation wherever you go.
Materials
Polymer clay of various colors (there are several brands on the market, the best known are Fimo and Sculpey).
A metal swab.
Wire covered by black plastic (they will be the mustaches of our Doraemon).
Cutter and glue.
Key ring.
And a lot, a lot of patience ...
Our Process
Make two balls with blue clay that will be the head and the body. That of the head slightly larger than that of the body.
Flatten a piece of white polymer clay and cut out two circles. We will cut a piece from each circle as it appears in the second photograph.
We join the two balls by pressing one against the other and we put the two circles on them.
Next we make two white balls, we crush them and we put them as eyes. On them two black mini balls will be the pupils.
Then we put a black strip forming the mouth of Doraemon.
A red ball as a nose and another semicircle to make the pocket of Doraemon.
We will make two white balls that will be the hands that we will join the arms and two more balls that we will stretch slightly so that they are the feet.
Then we will press everything so that it compacts but without using too much force or we will damage the doll.
Finally we will put a red ball that will be the tail of the doraemon keychain.
We will nail the metal stick in the center of the head.
We will make some holes for after it is baked to put the whiskers.
Lo we bake 30 minutes at 130 degrees.
We will make a ring with the metal stick in the center of the head and we will join it to the metal ring with a chain.
We will introduce the whiskers and we will hook them with glue.
And after an arduous task… Done! A totally keychain handmade.
And always remember that the limit is set by our imagination!
