Hello everybody. We continue with the crafts of Valentine's Day! and the day of love and friendship and this time I'm going to teach you how to do this card with an elephant that carries balloons of hearts.
Materials to make the elephant card
- Colored cards
- Decorated or scrapbooking paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Permanent markers
- Colored eva rubber
- Eva rubber punches
- Pencil and eraser
Procedure for making the elephant card
- To start with, we need a patterned paper like those used for scrapbooking or origamil. Mine measures 15 cm x 15 cm.
- Go drawing lelephant silhouette as I am doing in the photos. First, draw the trunk and then an arch that will be the side of the elephant. Finish with the paws and joining the lines to have the complete silhouette of the elephant.
- Cut out this piece very carefully.
- To form the eye I'm going to use black and white foam rubber and make two circles with my circle punches. I'll glue the black on top of the white and the eye will be ready. Then I'll stick it on the elephant's face.
- With a piece of smooth pink cardboard I am going to form earI'll stick it on top of the elephant later.
- With fine marker, I'm going to do it eye lashes of the elephant.
- Now I will fold a large cardboard 24 x 32 cm in half to have the skeleton of our work.
- I will stick the elephant on top of the card and with black marker I will draw the contouror to make it more defined.
- Now, I am going to draw the lines that will be the strings of the balloons.
- With the hole punch hearts I'm going to use cutouts from other jobs and put them on the end of each string to mimic balloons.
- To finish the card, I will write the phrase «I love you» with gold marker.
And so we have finished this easy and original card for Valentine's Day.
