Glass bottle painted with watercolors

Happy Monday DIY friends! How have you started the week? I hope with great enthusiasm and patience to spend these days of extreme heat. We start the week with new DIYs that we hope you like and will help you unleash your creativity.

In today's tutorial, we have decided to bet on the recycling to decorate giving a new life to a bottle crystal that later we can use as a vase, as a candle holder, as a pencil, etc. In short, you can give it the utility that you like the most.

Material

  1. A glass bottle.
  2. A pack of watercolors and brushes.
  3. A bowl of water.
  4. A bottle of glass spray varnish.

Our Process

First we will clean the bottle by applying hot water to make the stickers and glue come out better. Once we have the bottle clean and dry, we will proceed to apply the watercolors paint.

For a translucent but not too diluted color, we will take into account the amount of water with which we will apply the paint on the glass. To make this craft we have used paint with very little water.

We will apply paint throughout the bottle in different colors and shades creating the contrast that we like the most. Once we are painting the bottle, we will let it dry until the watercolor is completely dry. Afterwards, we will only have to apply the spray varnish.

Keep in mind that, to apply the spray varnish, you must do it in a well-ventilated place and with a cardboard underneath so as not to stain anything.

After applying the varnish on the glass bottle, we will let it dry for a day and, if necessary, we will apply another coat of spray varnish the next day.

Until the next DIY!
