Glass pots with wooden supports

Glass pots with wooden supports

This craft is one of those we like to decorate any corner of the house. With a few boats or Glass jars we can do some wooden supports and complete that vintage look that we like so much. We can fill with stones of different sizes and colors and then add a natural or artificial plant. You also have the option of using small ones Candles to give a romantic touch.

The materials that I have used for the pots:

  • Wooden sticks imitation of ice cream sticks.
  • Square wooden sticks 0,5 cm wide.
  • Hot silicone with your gun or a special wood glue.
  • A rule.
  • A pencil.
  • Some strong scissors to cut the wood or something similar.
  • A few pebbles to fill the mason jars.
  • Plastic or natural plants for decoration.

You can see this craft step by step in the following video:

Base with popsicle sticks:

First step:

Let's do a base of wooden sticks. We will take the measurements of the diameter of the glass jar in the shape of a flowerpot. We put those measurements on the wooden stick and cut their measurement. We will make 32 cuts to measure to later make tacos.

Second step:

We join with glue or silicone the four sticks, making a kind of wooden block. They have to be well aligned and compact. We will join its corners with the glue, but giving it that square shape, not rectangular shape. So we will have our first wooden base.

Base with square wooden sticks:

First step:

We measure the base or diameter of the pot shaped jar. As the sticks are 0,5 cm wide we have to leave a margin, adding to what we have measured 1 cm more. We put the measurements on the stick and cut 8 pieces. We will also cut four sticks of 3 cm.

Second step:

We join the ends of the four sticks with glue. We will make a perfect square and not a rectangle. We will also do it with the other four long sticks. The four small 3 cm sticks we will place them at each vertex to serve as support between the two structures.

Third step:

Once we have joined the entire structure we will fill one of the jars with the stones of different sizes and we will place one of the little plants.
