Hello everybody. A couple of posts ago I showed you how I had made a heart rug with a shaggy fabric. Well, how I had left some shaggy fabric scraps I decided to use them in something and today I will teach you as I did with a few scraps a heart bag.
In very few easy steps We will get a nice furry fabric heart bag.
Materials to make a heart bag
- Shaggy fabric scraps.
- Bias tape and cord of the same color.
- Scissors.
- Sewing machine.
- Snaps and plier.
Procedure
El procedure is very simple, I did it without mold directly cutting out two pieces as much as possible heart-shaped from furry fabric.
Then in each piece I sewed on the edge bias tape, I chose it orange as I wanted it to contrast with the color of the bag. I did it on the sewing machine but we can do it by hand if we do not have a sewing machine. The bias I put it on the edge leaving the lower part of the heart with nothing As seen in the image.
To continue with the making of the heart bag, I joined the parts with the wrong side facing out and sewed from the edge to where the heart slings begin, leaving this part open as the "mouth" of the heart bag and then I turned it over and molded the seams by applying pressure with my fingers along the edge.
As I mentioned before I used an orange cord which I sewed inside to each side of the heart bag by giving it several passes with the sewing machine.
To finish the heart bag, what I did was place in the opening that I left, several snaps of the same color as the bias tape and the cord to be able to close it and that the things that we keep in it do not escape. If we don't have snaps we can replace them with normal buttons or by a zipper if you like it more.
And so we will finish with the making of our heart bag.
As you see is very easy and very few materials are needed, we can take advantage of any remaining fabric to make this style of heart bag and even experiment with other shapes such as stars, circles, etc.
