In this tutorial I bring you an idea for recycle plastic bottles and turn them into lanterns decorative. They are easy, quick and inexpensive to do.
Materials
To do the lanterns decorative you will need the following materials:
- Plastic bottle
- Cutter
- Cardboard
- Gun silicone
- Masking or carpenter's tape
- Metallic spray paint
- Metallic paint for brush
- Brush
- Star shaped hole punch
- Scissors
- LED candle

Do not forget any steps, we will remember them:
- Cut the bottle in half with a utility knife.
- Glue the masking tape in 3 squares, creating the lantern windows.
- Glue a piece of cardboard to the bottom of the bottle.
- Cut that cardboard base in a circular shape, following the edge of the bottle.
- Cut off the top of the bottle, leaving an uncut piece so you can open and close it.
- With a star-shaped hole punch, you can punch the top to give it more detail.
- Paint the bottle with metallic spray paint.
- Paint the interior base with a metallic paint and brush.
Remember that to paint with spray you must do it in a well-ventilated place. You also have to keep in mind that you must use led candles, never a real candle with fire, as it will be inside a plastic container. We can also do this craft with children, taking care that it is not cut with the cutter or burned with the silicone gun, so it is better that they are always under the supervision of an adult and help them in whatever they need. This type of crafts educate the little ones in the culture of recycling.
You have thousands of possibilities by changing the color of the lantern and using different bottles. A set of three lanterns of different sizes looks great.
