How to embroider a name by hand to personalize your projects

EMBROIDER-NAME

Hello everybody!!!. I do not know if it will happen to you like me that I love to personalize fabric things by putting the name, either in the snack bag, in a toiletry bag, in the bib for school, and so I could continue listing endless things ...

Today I am going to show you what is the system I use to embroider a name by hand which I hope is very useful for customize your sewing projects.

Makings:

The materials that we are going to need are very simple and basic for sewing, you will surely have them at home:

  • Interlining (Of the one that sticks on one side).
  • Embroidery thread (I have used 5gr Egyptian thread).
  • A needle (It has to be fat to be able to pass the thread).
  • A pencil or a marker of those that are erased by applying heat.

To make the name I have done it freehand, but you can choose to print it and then trace it on the fabric where your embroidered name will go.

  1. We cut the piece of fabric and interlining that we are going to use.
  2. We apply heat so that the two pieces stick together.
  3. We mark the name on the fabric.

(You can also draw the name on the fabric first, in order to cut what you need, or do it directly on the object to personalize).

Now it's time for embroidery, I'll explain it to you in these four steps:

  1. We passed the needle from the back of the fabric (4).
  2. La we reintroduce through the same site and we give a stitch holding the thread as it is in the image (5).
  3. We repeat the same previous step, thus remaining a chain shape.
  4. We are following the mark of the letter and when we reach the end we hold the last point by passing the needle to the other side of the fabric.

We can only bind off on the wrong side of the fabric, because that part is not seen. And so we have our embroidered letters and our personalized object.

I hope you liked this craft and that you put it into practice, I'm sure that in some of your projects it will be very useful. You already know that you can share it, give the like in the icons at the top, comment and ask what you want, because we are happy to answer your questions. See you at the next DIY.
