In today's post you will see how to make a custom mix media tag to use it as you like: gift card, bookmarks, etc ...
I will tell you that the media mix is a mixture of artistic techniques and in this case we are going to mix decoupage, watercolors, acrylic ... An all in one that I show you below.
Materials to create the custom mix media tag:
- Violet card stock.
- Watercolor or heavyweight paper.
- Decorated paper napkin.
- Watercolors.
- Acrylic.
- Black marker.
- Drill.
- Ribbon, lace.
- Double sided tape.
- Scissors.
- Fine brush.
- Decoupage adhesive (You can use white glue diluted with water).
Process to make the tag:
- Start with the decorated napkin, separating the layer of the drawing from the other two. With a brush dipped in water apply along the outline of the drawing you want to use.
- Rips carefully that area, you will see that it will break well.
- Apply decoupage adhesive on the rectangle of watercolor paper and carefully place the drawing on the napkin. Always brush a few strokes from the center to the ends so that it is well glued and without wrinkles.
- Apply below watercolor For the blank areas, do it to your liking and letting the brush flow with the paint. Let it dry.
- It is the turn for him acrylic. In my case I have used a spray but you can apply it with a brush, letting drops fall on the surface.
- To make the tag corta one of the corners of the upper part in the shape of a triangle. Use as a base to make the other corner so that the two are the same.
- Finish off the contour of the tag, for this pass the scissors scraping the paper, you will get a more rustic look.
- Place the double-sided tape In the reverse.
- Make the same tag on the colored cardstock, but half a centimeter larger in both width and length. Stick the decorated tag on it.
- Mark a fake stitched with the black marker around the contour of the tag.
- Now, customize the tag. You can put the name if it is for a gift, or a word like in this case.
- Pierce a hole, you can put a brat if you want.
- Minute the ribbons and lace, even a cord to tie it wherever you want.
It can also double as a bookmark now that book day is approaching.
