Do you know the canes or sticks that are sometimes put on the railings to protect a balcony or terrace? Well, that's where this idea came from. I had to change the old railing of my mother's house, and taking advantage of a glass vase, I wanted to prepare this surprise that I bring you today. How to make a pot with sticks recycling materials.
In the end it was thought that he had bought it, since it was suddenly found exposed. He loved it! I show you the process in case you dare to do it.
Materials
- Sticks
- Glass vase or highball glass
- White pebbles
- Pruning shears
- Wire
- Black paint (better in spray)
- Earth or substrate and plant (better a cactus)
Our Process
- Cut all the sticks to the same size than the height of the glass / vase. In order not to measure, I cut one that I took as a reference, and used it as a ruler to cut the others.
- Paint with the spray all sticks. Remember to turn them around.
- Cut two wires. Take a chicken gum, as a fulcrum at first it will come in handy.
- Place the sticks around the glass. Let them support themselves with the rubber. At first they will slide. Do not worry! As soon as you put the wire up and down, they will be more than stiff from the pressure.
- Take out the chicken gum that is no longer needed, and fill the inside with the pebbles white.
Finally, place the soil or substrate, with the little plant on top. I mentioned a cactus earlier for two reasons. The first is because it will not overgrow due to its moderate growth. The second and most important, it requires very little water. In this case I took the cactus from a pot that was full of them. And here it looks great now!
