On other occasions I have already told you about the polymer clay (FIMO), that kind of clay that is baked and hardened in the oven and that we can use to make a multitude of Crafts. Do you know her? In this post, I will show you how to do various types of buttons with polymer clay very easily and quickly. We start!
Materials
- Polymer clay the color we want.
- Cutters or objects that we use to make the shape of the buttons (for example, a bottle cap for large buttons).
- Cutter.
- Un awl or a toothpick.
Our Process
- Extend the polymer clay and use the cutter to make the shape of the buttons.
- Make two holes in the center with the punch.
- Alternatively give it the shape we want with our own hands as in photograph number three.
- Instead of two holes remember that you can also make buttons of four.
- If we want two-color buttons, just flatten two different colors joined on one side.
- Then, we will proceed to do the same as with the previous ones. Cut them and make the holes with the awl.
- Alternatively use a relief to give the buttons depth.
- We will put the template with relief on polymer clay and we will press on it until the image is inverted in the clay.
- Again we will repeat the cutter process and make the holes.
- Finally we will do some buttons with raised contour using the opposite part of the cutter.
- We will press gently on the button already made so that it leaves a relief.
- And finally we will have a complete collection of buttons.
