The uses that can be made of toilet paper rolls are almost endless. Something similar also to the uses that straws can have. Today I show you how to make a palm tree using one of them, straws, and a green cloth. Ideal to decorate your bookshelf, desk, or that area of the home to which you want to give a pleasant and fun touch!
Materials
- Toilet paper roll carton
- Cello or tape
- Green color fabric
- Orange or brown straws
- Hot silicone or strong glue
- Eyes and marker (optional)
Our Process
- Take the cardboard and cut it along with the scissors.
- Roll it up to make it slimmer, and with the help of zeal tie it so that it does not fall apart. You can turn it several times to make sure it is securely attached.
- Cut the straws at the bottom. That the start they have from the area where they are folded is equal to that of the roll.
- Cut the tops of all the straws into 4 strips. Above all, do not cut the part where it bends. Then this area will be necessary to shape what your leaves will be.
- Once you have them all cut, stretch their necks before continuing to facilitate the next steps.
- Cut, roll, and glue the green fabric that you had prepared. You can join it with the help of hot silicone or strong glue (which is what I did in my case).
- Insert all the straws into the paper roll. Fold them irregularly, to create the set of leaves that characterizes it.
- Finally, you can stick a couple of plastic eyes and draw a smile so it doesn't look too bland, and it's fun to watch.
