How to make the jar of calm in a simple and easy way.

In today's post we are going to see how to make the pot of calm in a simple and easy way.

The jar of calm is one of the best known educational techniques of the Montessori method. This method is very easy to apply and offers favorable results in the very short term to teach your children to manage their emotions.

Materials to make the jar of calm:

  • A glass jar or a plastic bottle, preferably transparent and without labels.
  • Glitter (also known as glitter, glitter or diamond) of the child's choice, although the ideal is to opt for light tones as they are more relaxing.
  • Transparent glue.
  • Warm tap water.
  • Food coloring to color the water.
  • A stick or spoon to stir.

Processing:

  • Pour the lukewarm water from the tap into the glass jar or the plastic bottle to fill more than half.
  • Then add the glue to the water. Keep in mind that the more glue you add, the longer it will take for the glitter to descend, so that it will have a more relaxing effect.
    • Depending on the size of your jar, two tablespoons will do.

  • Add two or three drops of the food coloring that the little one has chosen to color the water.
    • Try to keep it in a subdued color for a greater calming effect.
  • Removes with a stick or spoon so that the water mixes with the food coloring.

  • Next, let the child choose the color of glitter that he likes the most.
    •  Add about 3-4 dessert teaspoons full of glitter to the water.
  • Stir so that the glitter mixes well with the water and glue.

  • Fill the bottle with more water or add a little more glitter if it isn't enough. Stir.
  • Decorate the lid to your liking.
    • You can put a sticker and have the little one put his name or as in my case with embossing put the word calm.

  • Then, put the cap on and close it tightly so that the water does not leak out when you remove the bottle. ç
  • You can also put it in hot water for about twenty minutes and make it vacuum, as is done with preserves, to make it more difficult to open

Clever! Your child already has his own jar of calm, you can accompany him to relax and when he is calmer, talk about what happened.
