Today I show you a fun way to how to put a patch on a pants. It sure doesn't come off.
Makings:
The materials to make this monster patch are the following:
- Thick thread. I have used the EGYPTIAN cotton No. 12.
- Felt fabric. It must be thick and of good quality, you can also use corduroy or another type of fabric.
- Scissors.
- Needle.
- Pins.
Processing:
To make the patch we are going to follow three steps:
- Prepare the hole:
- Extend the slaughterhouse where the area where we are going to make our monster patch is.
- Open the hole by making a few cuts.
- Fold in and secure with pins.
- Pass a basting around the outline of the hole.
- Lay the fabric.
- Sew the eyes. With a double thread we will give some cross stitches that will make us eyes for our little monster.
- We will take measurements of the hole to be covered and we will cut a rectangle a little larger than the hole and the other saw-shaped piece that will serve as teeth.
- We will present in the hole introducing these two fabrics from the inside, and we will fasten with pins so that it does not move. We will give a basting to work better.
- We will pass a first stitch around the contour of the hole and a second so that the fabric is well attached to the pants.
- Finish off the piece.
- We remove the basting from the contour of the hole and turn the slat around.
- We cut the excess fabric so that it does not bother the inside. As it is felt, it is not necessary to finish it off so that it does not fray, if you put another type of fabric you have to take this into account.
