How to recycle tin cans to make gift boxes

Recycling it is very fashionable. In this post I am going to teach you how to recycle tin cans and transform them into Gift boxes as original as this one, where you can put any detail you want for a birthday, party, etc ...

Materials to recycle aluminum cans

  • Aluminum canning cans
  • Rubber eva
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Adhesive beads
  • Permanent marker
  • Ruler and meter
  • Cardboard

Procedure for making the gift box

  • To start you need a can, choose the size that suits your needs.
  • Measure the height of the can and the outline to cut a strip of eva rubber of those measurements.

  • Line the can with the eva rubber, I have glued it with hot silicone.
  • On a piece of white eva rubber mark the contour of the mouth of the can pressing so that the silhouette remains.
  • Cut this piece out of cardboard as well.

  • Glue the cardboard on top of the foam and cut out the whole.
  • Then cut out a 1,5 cm strip wide by the contour of the lid.
  • Gently stick around the cardboard with hot silicone.

  • Place the lid on top of the can to see that the two pieces fit together perfectly.
  • Now I'm going to make a rose, cut out a rectangle of 30x4 inch approx.
  • Cut some waves as you see in the image and roll this piece.

  • Put some glue on the end of the strip to close the rose.
  • Cut out 3 sheets in green eva rubber.
  • Go sticking the leaves in the center of the box and in the center place the rose.

  • With green marker I'm going to do details on the sheets.

  • To finish decorating the box I will use shiny pearls, but you can substitute them for any ornament you have around the house.
  • And so you have finished a perfect gift box for a special occasion and cheaper, impossible.
