Materials
To create the newsprint bowls you will need the following materials:
- Bowl that will serve as a mold
- Diary paper
- Gun silicone
- White glue
- Toilet paper
- Painting
- Brush
Step by step

Step 1: Prepare the newspaper
Cut the paper horizontally, as you can see in the video. Roll up the strips like a licorice or string.
Step 2: create the bowl
Start at the bottom by creating a flat wheel with the strips of newspaper that you prepared in the previous step. Go sticking them with silicone in a gun and following the bowl that you have chosen from the mold.
Step 3: reinforce the bowl
Prepare a mixture of white glue and water in equal parts. With a brush, spread the mixture around the bowl and stick together pieces of toilet paper. When you paste them, apply the mixture again on the toilet paper so that they seal well.
Let it dry completely, and you will see how it is reinforced, harder and without gaps.
Step 4: paint and decorate
This part is already very personal. It depends on your tastes, where you want to place it, if you want to give it to someone. For this reason I show you how it is with three different options:
- Paint it with any water-based paint such as acrylics or liquid tempera.
- Paint it with stone effect paint, which has a sandy finish perfect for rustic bowls.
- Varnish with matt finishes and also with glossy finishes.
