Good morning to everybody. For today's craft we propose you how to make a brooch out of denim, shaped like an owl. In a few simple steps, we will have a very nice brooch.
Surely you will have at home a piece of denim, having cut the length to jeans, for example. Or some old jeans that you no longer wear. Well with this idea you can give it another use.
Materials to make the brooch:
The materials that we will need are the following:
- A piece of denim. It can be a scrap that you have at home and that you want to take advantage of.
- Colored or patterned fabric.
- Two buttons.
- Hilo.
- Needle.
- Scissors.
- Safety pin or brooch.
Processing:
- The first thing we are going to do is a owl shape mold on paper the size you want the brooch. In my case I marked it directly on the denim and it is eight centimeters. Later we cut two shapes, one of the right and one of the reverse.
- We also cut out the shape of the wings, this time in a fabric that matches us, it can be smooth or printed, as we like. There will be two forms also for the two wings.
- All the we sew to a piece of cloth cowgirl It can be with a needle and thread or with the sewing machine.
- We sew the two buttons that will make us eyes and we embroider a triangle that will make a peak.
We only have left fix the clasp on the other side of the fabric, if we do not have we can take a safety pin that will do the same function. Then we join the two denim fabrics and we pass a zigzag or backstitch all around and we unite and protect them so that they do not fray.
