In today's craft we are going to make a natural lemon candle, very decorative, perfect for centerpieces of some food in summer or simply to give smell and ambience our house at night while we relax.
Do you want to see how to do it?
Materials that we will need to make our lemon candle
- A lemon. Preferably choose one that is elongated and the tips of the lemon are well noticeable.
- 3-4 white candles, in my case I have used the small ones that go in a silver container.
- Lavender or dried rosemary. I recommend either of these two, but you can choose your favorite aromatic.
- Knife
- Glass jar, which is high to prevent water from entering.
- Pot and water
Hands on craft
- First we put the pot with water to boil.
- We chop up the candles and put them in the glass jar. Next, we place the pot inside the pot and let the candles melt. At the time of cutting the candles the first cut in half to remove the wicks. We will use one and the rest you can save for other crafts.
- We cut the lemon in half in a way that can be seen in the photograph. So it will have greater stability and also aesthetically it is more beautiful.
- We empty half a lemon helping us with a knife and spoon until it is very clean. I use the juicer to extract the juice before emptying it, so I can use it for cooking or a juice.
- We put the wick of the candle in the lemon, a little bit of the aromatic plant that we have chosen, I have used rosemary and we put everything in a bowl to avoid any disaster if it turned into lemon when pouring the wax.
- We pour the hot wax and sprinkle more aromatic plant. As the wax cools, it will take on the aroma of lemon and rosemary.
- It only remains to wait for it to cool down and we can use it. Note that being natural lemon it is better to use the candle early.
And ready!
I hope you cheer up and do this craft.
