Recycle a box with decoupage

We love to use recycling and this is another way to make use of it. I have chosen a cardboard box that many times we come across and we are sorry that it does not have another use, nothing more than he only had, and it was to transport the fruit. Well, we can give it a vintage touch if we decorate it to our liking, paint the box with acrylic paint and add the decoupage technique. That's how easy we can decorate the box with any drawing or motif that we like, there are countless drawings that can be offered in a craft store, choose the one you like the most.

You can see the step by step of this tutorial in the following video:

These are the materials that I have used:

  • A cardboard box
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Napkins with flower motifs or the drawing you want to choose
  • glue type glue
  • gold acrylic paint
  • Black velvet-like paper or fabric that can be pasted
  • scissors
  • Brushes
  • ruler
  • pencil

First step:

We choose a cardboard box that we have chosen to be able to recycle. We paint it on all sides and corners with black acrylic paint. We can leave the lower part or base unpainted where later we will place a velvety fabric. We let it dry.

Second step:

We cut the flowers What we want stick in the box. Napkins often come with many motifs, I have chosen to cut part of many of them. Must separate the layers that leads to leaving the thin layer where the drawing is.

Third step:

We queue in the reverse of the drawing. If the glue is too thick we can lower with a little water to be able to apply it better. We try to paste the drawing on the boxIf there are parts that do not stick well, we can help to join them to the box with the brush and a little glue. We finished decorating the box by giving brush strokes with gold paint, we give soft touches so that the brushstrokes are not very marked.

Fourth step:

We take measurements from the box to cut out the fabric or cardstock to size. It will be very original placed on the base, so it will make us a much more beautiful support. And now it only remains to decorate it or use it with what we like the most.
