Recycled bottles to decorate the home

Bottles to decorate the home

For the home, the trimmings, such as painted dishes, Watches handmade, boxes, lamps or balls to decorate the center of the table. All of them give the house a very special grace, since it fills it with life, color and luminosity. However, there is almost always a secluded, dark place, for which we must buy something impressive to make it look nice. Therefore, today I bring you this precious craft, to give a antique and minimalist touch to that off corner and save on buying an ornament that in the end we do not like.

This craft consists of decorating some old bottles with papier-mâché, giving it a arabic or egyptian design, like that of the ancient pyramids. In this way, we promote the recycling of plastic bottles.

Our Process

  1. Mark the bottom of the bottle on the Styrofoam mold, at least 2 cm thick.

  3. Link the different bases to each other and let dry. Later, join the bottle, giving everything three-dimensionality.
  4. Paint the bottles with acrylic varnish.
  5. At the same time we are painting, let's go gluing the papier-mâché dough (made beforehand), minus the base.
  6. Paint the bottle with African brown tones, mopping it up.
  7. conduct a sketch on the adhesive paper and place it on the front of the bottle.
  8. begin to paint the holes with the 3D paint and let it dry. Then, before it dries, sprinkle with glitter.
  9. Spray the entire bottle with hairspray, so that everything is well fixed.
  10. For bottle cap: Paint the lid and the sphere with the varnish and gradually place the papier-mâché, let it dry. Then paint with 3D paint and before it dries sprinkle the glitter. When everything is dry, spray the lacquer and, finally, varnish and glue the pieces together.
