Recycling materials that we have at home is always a great idea, especially if it is about making something that also has a new use. Surely you have glass jars in the pantry of different sizes and shapes. Those containers that are always saved for some other occasion and that are perfect for all kinds of crafts.
In this case we have converted two small canning jars into two candle holders with different designs. Very easy to do in both cases, so simple that you can do it with the little ones in the house. Next we see materials and step by step to create these recycled glass candle holders.
Glass candle holders: materials
The materials that we will need to create these cute and fun candle holders of recycled glass are the following:
- Glass jars Preferred Size Recycling
- Tape
- Enamel golden in color
- Chopsticks of cotton
- Acrylic enamel of different colors
- Un brush
- Colored stones
- Candles
Step by step
The first thing we are going to do is create the design on one of the glass jars. With adhesive tape we can create the design that we like the most. In this case a few simple lines very much in the style of nordic decoration.
Step 2:
When we have the design done we can start painting the glass jar. In this case we will paint along the edges and when removing the adhesive tape there will be holes in sight where the candle will be seen.
Step 3:
Let dry a few minutes and we give a second layer of enamel. If you want the color to be more intense, you can give several layers of paint until you get the desired color.
Step 4:
Now we start with the other jar and a different design. For this we put a little paint in plastic containers, we will need several colors.
Step 5:
With a cotton swab we take a small amount of paint and start painting little moles all over the glass jar.
Step 6:
With another clean toothpick we add dots of another color and we repeat with the rest of the chosen colors until we have the design to our liking.
Step 7:
When the paint is completely dry we remove the adhesive tape very carefully.
Step 8:
To finish we put some colored pebbles on the bottom of the jar. We put the chosen candles inside and that's it, we already have two new recycled glass candle holders to decorate the house.
