How to make a rustic vase by recycling a glass jar

You know what I like to give another use to everyday things that we no longer use, such as tuna cans or glass jars. Well, in addition to recycling, we are creating something beautiful, practical and personalized. Today we are going to see how to make a rustic vase, recycling a glass jar. It can be used as a centerpiece or to decorate any point of the house.

Makings:

  • Glass jar to reuse.
  • Sackcloth or burlap.
  • Sisal cord or rope.
  • Cardboard.
  • Scissors.

Processing:

  • Part of a glass jar with a suitable size for our craft. To prepare it we will have to clean and remove all labels. I leave you a link HERE where I explain how to do it.
  • To cover the area above and hide that it is a jar, wind a rope around the entire contour, start by leaving a bit of rope and finish by tying the other end with two knots.

  • Now cut the burlap fabric To do this, take the measurements of your jar. Remove a few threads from the warp to make it fuzzy and give it a more rustic look.
  • Hold the fabric by passing a few turns with the ropeay tying with a double knot.

  • Now prepare some labels. Cut the cardboard to the size you want and make it in the shape of a pennant. Pass a thread that you have removed from the warp through them to be able to hold them later. Here if you want you can write or draw something.
  • Make a loop to finish. At each end of the cord you can tie a knot and then cut the excess. There will be a more professional finish.

And you will have ready rustic vase to decorate a centerpiece ideal complement to these recycled candle holders:
