Vintage jars to decorate

Vintage jars to decorate

We really like to do this type of crafts. For this we have chosen two glass jars of different sizes and we have decorated them in a vintage style. For this we have painted them with spray paint and then we have added some details with a marking pen. You will like its result!

The materials that I have used for the cactus:

  • Large glass jars for recycling
  • Black spray paint.
  • Copper colored spray paint.
  • White marking pen.
  • Gold marking marker.
  • Decorative rope in two different colors or textures.
  • A piece of white card to make labels.
  • A latex glove.
  • Magazine or newspaper paper.
  • Sticker printing paper.
  • Tracing paper.
  • Folio to print name.
  • A pen.
  • A cotton swab soaked in alcohol.

You can see this craft step by step in the following video:

First step:

One of the boats we paint it with black paint spray. I have placed magazine or newspaper paper on the table and I have placed a glove on my hand where I am going to hold the bottle. With the other hand I have been painting the boat. We put it upright on the table and let it dry.

Third step:

We print on a paper a word or a name with vintage shape to be able to trace it on the boat. We place a tracing between the boat and the paper and we outline the name with a pen so that it is traced.

Fourth step:

The white marker marking we go around the word and fill in or we paint the letters inside. The word will have to be reviewed with the marker several times so that it is well defined.

Fifth step:

We cut a label and with the hole punch we make a hole to be able to hang it. With another die cutter we can make a drawing of a heart. We take one decorative rope We decorate the mouth of the jar, we will place the rope as low as possible so that the lid can be placed later. Let's not forget to place the tag between the strings and finish by making a couple of knots and making a loop.

Step Six:

We print the heart shape on a sticker sheet. We cut it out and glue it the heart in the boat. We place the pot on newspaper and with the glove of the hand. We paint it all with black spray without leaving any corner unpainted. We put the pot upright and let it dry.

Seventh step:

When it has dried we can remove the sticker. If we have traces of glue we will remove them with a cotton impregnated with alcohol.

Eighth step:

We paint or we decorate with dots the edge of the heart. We will do it with the gold-colored marking pen. We take the rope and we will also loop it several times around the mouth of the jar. We finish by making a knot and a nice bow.
