For this Christmas we can do these fun and creative crafts with children. We can recycle some cardboard tubes to recreate them in the shape of candles and even a very original Angel with a lot of shine and glitter.
They are easy crafts to do that we can do in an afternoon. The only drawback is that if we use hot silicone we have to be careful that it is not manipulated by children and that for small doubts we have a video so you can see how they are done step by step.
The materials that I have used are:
- Cardboard tubes.
- Red, bright yellow, beige and white card stock.
- Shiny silver colored cardstock.
- Golden pipe cleaner.
- Black marker.
- Pink marker.
- Yellow-orange marker.
- Gold glitter.
- Scissors.
- Pencil.
- Compass.
- Ruler.
- Scissors.
- Hot silicone and gun.
- Small candles with artificial flames to place inside the tubes.

Candle-shaped decorations
First step:
We cut one of the red cardboard the size of one of the tubes and glue it with the hot silicone. We do the same with the yellow cardboard that we will also stick on the tube.
Second step:
We open a window in each of the tubes. We conduct two circles of about 6 cm, one beige and the other yellow. We draw two flames freehand to place them in the circle and cut them out. We made one on beige cardboard to stick it with the yellow circle and the other one in yellow to place it on the beige circle.
Third step:
The cut out flames we glue them inside the circle. We put some silicone inside the flame and we sprinkle glitter golden to stick. With a yellow-orange marker we draw lines that come out of the flame to make it seem more real.
Fourth step:
We make some cuts on the sides of the tubes and we put the circles to place the flame. We finally fill the artificial candles inside the tubes and we will have our craft ready.
Angel ornament
First step:
We cut out a piece of cardboard the same size as the cardboard tube and glue it with the hot silicone.
Second step:
We take the tube and place it on top of the white cardboard and we draw a circle of the same size than the circumference of the tube. We cut it out and draw the eyes, the mouth and the blushes. We glue the circle on the tube.
Third step:
We draw freehand one of the Angel's wings along with some space between the two wings so that it will be glued on the tube. We cut out the drawn wing, fold it and trace the other side of the wing in the same way. We finished cutting it and glued the wings to the tube. Fourth step:
We take the pipe cleaner and we fold it making the hoop. We will also leave a strip under the ring to stick it on the tube and seal the ring with the silicone. In this way we will have our craft ready.
