DIY decorations: pearl flowers on sandals

DIY decorations: pearl flowers on sandals

This decorative work includes a pair of sandals (or the shoe on which you want to make this decoration), to which we are going to apply a flower with mother-of-pearl petals, created with your hands in the way explained in this article.

Necessary materials:

  • plastic office folder
  • 0,4mm gold-plated wire cutter (or pliers)
  • mother of pearl paint
  • glue glue for glass
  • sandal or footwear that you want to decorate

Process:

To perform this pearl decoration, first you must take the transparent plastic sheet (or the office folder), and apply a first small amount of the pearl color paint, spreading it slightly and moving it in a circular way with a toothpick (leaving a minimum thickness of a few centimeter) of a diameter of about an inch, at will according to how you want to obtain the small mother-of-pearl flakes.

Let it dry and then cut the petal by placing the plastic piece back. Cut the amount of petals that you think is necessary depending on how you intend to make the decoration.

As explained previously, make a small hole in each petal to pass the wire through them in 2 or 3 different sizes and when they are dry (after 24 hours), add to the pearl before clamping with wire, passing between the two holes. They must be done from the central pistil, place smaller petals inside and a little bigger outside.

To paste the flowers in sandals bend the threaded rod to flatten it and you can use as components, glue or transparent silicone.
