Do you want to see how to do it?

Materials that we will need to make our emergency candle

  • A big orange
  • Vegetable oil, serve whatever you have at home
  • A lighter or matches
  • Knife

Hands on craft

  1. We take an orange, preferably a large one if you can choose.
  2. We cut the orange in half.

  1. To make the candle we will need the side of the orange that has the corner.

  1. With the help of a knife we are going to make a cut around the entire perimeter of the orange pulp, taking care not to split the skin. It is preferable that the pulp remains in the peel than that we leave a thin peel or split it. With a spoon We will remove all the pulp from the orange.

  1. To top it all off we will go pulling with our fingers until we leave the skin and the white part stuck to the orange skin. It is important not to remove the corner that is in the center of the orange as it will act as a wick.

  1. We dry the orange with a very good paper, we wait a couple of minutes for it to dry a little more.
  2. We add vegetable oil making sure to impregnate the middle stem.

  1. And it only remains light our candle of emergency. It may be difficult to light up a bit at first, this is because the stem has not been well impregnated with oil, wait a bit and try again.

  1. As it is an oil lamp, we recommend putting it in a bowl or plate to avoid disasters if we accidentally tap it and it should tip over.

And ready!

I hope you cheer up and make this craft
