Autumn leaves

Autumn leaves

These autumn leaves are a simple and fun craft so that even the smallest of the house can participate. Once made they will be part of an original decoration so you can hang where you want or place on the windows.

The craft is not difficult to do but it will need some skills done by skilled hands such as cutting or tracing some sketches. Some small cuts or the assembly of some pieces can be much easier to do, so when you see these leaves made, you will love that beautiful detail that they form.

The materials that I have used for two masks are:

  • Black cardboard
  • autumn colored tissue paper
  • a plastic sheet
  • small golden stars
  • a white sheet
  • pencil
  • rubber
  • scissors
  • razor-tipped pen or small cutter

You can see this craft step by step in the following video:

First step:

On a folio we draw some big autumnal leaves that we are going to use as templates to trace it on the black cardboard. When we have them done we cut them out.

Second step:

We take the templates that we have developed, We shape them on the black cardboard and cut them out. We leave a margin of half a centimeter and we trim the sheet again from the inside. In this way we leave a line that is structured as an edge.

Third step:

We trace our sheets onto our plastic sheetsWe can do it with a pencil that will show and then we will cut it out.

Fourth step:

We start make a little montage, we place one of the cut sheets and put the glue on its edge. We place and let the plastic sheet stick.

Fifth step:

We take some strips of tissue paper and we make little squares. We glue them in the center of the plastic sheet or sheet. We put some golden stars on top so that when the leaf is closed they can move and be fun.

Step Six:

We close the entire structure of the sheet. We put a little glue on the edge again and place the other cut sheet on top. To finish we cut the plastic that may have been left over on the sides of the sheet. We can place this craft on a piece of rope to hang it or place many of these leaves on the window panes.
