Materials that we will need to make our cardboard ladybug
- Black cardboard and red or orange cardboard. You can also use yellow. I recommend showing the children different photos so that they are the ones who choose which ladybug they want to do.
- Glue stick or any paper glue.
- Eyes for crafts or two little white cardboard circles
- Black marker
- Ruler, pencil and scissors
Hands on craft
- The first thing we are going to do is cut a strip out of black card. The thickness of this strip will mark that of the ladybug, so you can choose at this moment how big you want the figurine.
- We cut out a circle on the red cardboard, orange or yellow.
- We draw circles with black marker on this last card. They have to imitate the specks that ladybugs present.
- We cut the circle in half to get two wings and we booked.
- Now let's make the base body of the ladybugTo do this, we glue the black rectangle forming a circle. We make a fold on one side of the circle and then on the other, so that we get the shape of a half circle. Try that the closure of the old circle is at the base so that it is more concealed and the figure is better finished.
- We glue the two halves of the red / orange / yellow circle on top, imitating the position of open wings and ready to fly. We glue the eyes of crafts and optionally we can add some small antennas on black cardboard.
