With this craft you can customize the cover of a notebook in an original and fun way. I have chosen the face of an animal, in this case a dog, since with the representation of its ears and the movement that we are going to recreate with them, it will give us that fun game in the form of a pop-up.
The materials that I have used are:
- a notebook
- purple cardstock
- black card
- red cardboard
- light blue cardstock
- big eyes for crafts
- pencil
- ruler
- scissors

First step:
We measure the cover of the notebook and capture the same measurements on a purple card, but leaving about two centimeters on the sides that we will fold later. We cut out the measured piece.
Second step:
We take a piece of black cardboard and take the same measurements as the cover, although with a little more length. We fold the quadrant of the cardboard in half and draw a part of the dog's ears. We cut it, unfold it and the joined part that has remained of the ears we fold it inwards.
Third step:
We cut a strip of red cardboard in proportion to the length of the notebook, but with about 4 cm more. It will be the dog's tongue and will be about 5 to 6 cm wide. Then we will draw with the pencil a round line in the lower part of the strip, this part will be the one that gives the curved shape of the tongue.
Fourth step:
We choose the light blue cardboard and we will cut out two pieces that will be the ones that give the shape of the dog's face. In one of the parts we will draw a structure as in the photo that we will later cut out. We will stick the part of the tongue with the central part of the bent area of the ears.
Fifth step:
In the purple structure we will make an incision to put the tongue inside. We would have the tongue in front and the ears behind, which in this case would be bent. We cut out another black quadrant that would be glued to the back of the entire composition. The small tab that we had on one of the light blue parts of the face would be glued on the back of the whole.
Step Six:
We would have to cut out a piece of the nose and glue it on. We will also place the two eyes on the face. All that remains is to check that the pop-up system works for us.
