Materials
- Old jeans.
- Flower printed fabric.
- 1 spool of cotton thread the color of jeans.
- 1 spool of cotton thread in the color of the decorative fabric.
- 1 spool of colored cotton thread (yellow, pink, green ...) for the bag handles.
Our Process
- Cut off the legs of the pants.
- Open both legs of the pants. You have to cut 4 rectangles, 2 for the handles and 2 for the base of the bag.
- Fold the 4 rectangles in half and sew them inside out with blue thread. Once sewn, put them upright and iron them.
- Cut out 2 rectangles of the same size for the base of the bag. The width of these must be equal to the base of the pants.
- For mark the rounded edges From the rectangles, choose a round object like the lid of a spherical boat, and cut the edges.
- Sew the two rectangles with blue thread leaving the stop unstitched so that it remains open. To reinforce the background, cut and sew triangles in the rounded area.
- You can decorate the bag handles on both sides sewing them with colored thread. Another very attractive option is to cut two strips of printed fabric to the size of each handle and sew them on the inside.
- Create a decorative band cutting 2 rectangles of fabric of the same measurement: 1 m (length) X 7 cm (height) .Sew them together inside out, fold them right and iron. Sew the band at the top of the rectangle, front and back, gathering the fabric to fit the width of the bag.
- To make the inner liningCut 2 rectangles of the patterned fabric to the bag's size. Sew them on the wrong side leaving the top of the bag open. Sew the lining to the bag with invisible stitches, for this, sew the lining on the right and take a stitch from each side, sewing the thread in a zig zag.
- Nail clipper strip of the same patterned fabric with which you have made the decorative band and the lower lining of the bag. Tie it to one of the handles on the front by making a loop.
