Decorative heart

HEART

With a little skill and imagination we can make a decorated heart like the one I'm going to show you, thus decorating a space and giving it that personal touch that we were looking for.

To give to a couple, for a sweet table, to decorate a room ... So I show you the step by step so that you can see how I have done this one and so that you are encouraged to do yours:

Makings:

  • Thick cardboard.
  • Plaster.
  • Sand from the beach.
  • Cutter.
  • Pencil.
  • Wire.
  • Pliers
  • Headband.
  • Spatula.
  • Brush.
  • Masks or templates.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Punch.
  • Acrylic paint.
  • Distress brown ink.

Processing:

To carry out this craft that seems a bit complicated, following the steps of the process you will get a good result.

HEART1

  • We draw a heart on the cardboard with the pencil and cut it with a cutter.
  • We give a coat of gesso on both sides of the cardboard.

HEART2

  • We mix the sand from the beach with the gesso, we put on the mask or template about the heart and we are applying our mixture. If we do not have masks we can use anything that leaves us a relief, in this case I have used a mesh from the bag of onions from the super !.
  • Once it has dried we give a second layer with another type of template, we can use the spatula to apply the mixture of gesso and sand.

HEART3

  • We will give a coat of sandpaper, to make the surface smoother.
  • We will make two holes at the top of the heart, one on each side.

HEART4

  • We will paint the whole heart with a coat of white acrylic paint.
  • Once dry we will apply the ink giving it small touches until we get that vintage effect.

HEART5

  • We passed a piece of wire and we roll it up with the pliers to hold it as a handle.
  • Finally we put the ribbon making a loop.

HEART6

In the image you can see an image that is embedded in the composition: for this I have printed it in a blue tone and when applying the gesso I have been careful not to cover it completely, but to cover the entire contour. It could also be a text and thus give it another effect.

I hope you liked it and that you put it into practice and also to Any questions you know that I will be happy to answer you. See you in the next craft
