Decoupage It is a technique that is very fashionable lately and is used for many wood works and crafts and on any surface. In today's post I'm going to teach you how to do these decoupage coasters perfect to give the Mother's Day. They are very original and super easy to do.
Materials to make decoupage coasters
- Wooden coasters
- Decoupage napkin
- Decoupage glue or glue
- A brush
- Chalk painting
- A plastic
- A stencil
- Gold paint
- Sponge brush
- Glossy or matte varnish
- Gold marker
Procedure for making decoupage coasters
- To start you need coasters. Mine are round, but you can use them square or whatever you like, they are super cheap and you can find them in any store.
- Paint with the chalk paint both sides, I have used two colors: white and mauve.
- When it has completely dried I will sand the outline to remove chips and paint.
- Once completely dry, choose Napkin that you like the most, I have chosen some with flowers.
- I will remove all the white layers and keep only the one with the flower design.
- Apply some decoupage glue with the brush and gently place the napkin on top.
- Place a plastic wrap to avoid breaking the napkin and to spread it out so that no wrinkles appear on the paper.
- Once dry, with a file or sandpaper cut the napkin leftovers.
- Now with a stencil and a bit of gold paint with a brush I'm going to give you some hints of dots.
- Then go over the outline with a gold marker to make it more beautiful.
- We will give the final touch with a little varnish to protect and give it some shine.
- You can all the models you want, by changing the design of the napkin and giving them to your mother or anyone who likes this type of work.
