DIY: Fair fan with recycled materials

Fair fan

I have to confess that only a couple of days will my May Fair (El Puerto de Santa María). It has been a Fair sensational full of joy and singing and much, much rebujito. But I also have to tell you that the heat has made us suffocate quite a bit.

So, today I present this fair fan so that you do not spend so much heat at the fairgrounds of your town, and to be able to spend a great afternoon refreshing yourself with this fan made with recycled materials, such as ice cream sticks and tissue paper.

Materials and Tools

  • Popsicle sticks.
  • Glue glue.
  • Glue stick.
  • Scissors.
  • Tissue paper of various colors.

Our Process

First, we will form the fan structure with the popsicle sticks. To do this, we will superimpose these in such a way that they remain open, similar to that of a fan with a handle. Then, we will glue it with white glue and let it dry.

Then we will cut tissue paper rectangles in different colors, I have obtained pink and red, two typical colors of the Fair. First we will put one amount of one color and then the next one. We will wrinkle these tissue paper folds a little before gluing them.

Finally, we will place each wrinkled rectangle of paper on the popsicle sticks and we are sticking it little by little until we cover the entire range. So that it is not so ugly, in the back part we will wrinkle a small ball of paper so that it resembles a typical mole of the Fairs.
