DIY: homemade wallet

Homemade leatherette wallet

On the dates we are approaching, it is essential to look little by little for the Christmas presents so that, later, we do not get overwhelmed with the last last minute purchases and see ourselves with nothing. However, if you are one of those who like to make small gifts with your own hands, today we present an authentic craft.

A beautiful wallet made with leatherette for any male friend or family member. Also, it may be recommended for the Father's Day or for any birthday. Without a doubt, it is a unique and homemade gift that is very easy to make.

Materials

  • Screen Polipiel.
  • Thick thread in black.
  • Needle.
  • Live in black.

Our Process

First, we will do the templates from our paper portfolio. I have made a wallet with a purse so there are 4 templates in total. 2 (rectangles) for the wallets, 1 (square) for the cards, and 1 (folded rectangle) for the pocket of the coins.

Later, we will take these templates and we will move on to the leatherette fabric and we will cut them out. Before doing anything, let's measure and assemble the portfolio with the templates to see that everything is correct.

Then, we will start sewing on the rectangles of the wallet 2 pieces of piping throughoutThus, these edges will not fray over time.

Then we will fold the pocket piece and sew it to the narrowest template of the wallet. On the other hand, we will sew the template for the cards to it, previously making the incisions with a cutter.

Finally, we will sew the second wallet rectangle to shape the wallet and sew it completely on all sides, reinforcing the stitching. In addition, we will go to a hardware store to be able to place the button.
