In today's craft we are going to recycle some old sheets to make a cover for the bed of our dogs without sewing. You can use it to have several covers and not have to wash the entire bed or, as in my case, to fix a bed that my dog has broken.
Do you want to see how to make this cover quickly and easily?
Materials that we are going to need
- Old sheet
- Dog bed or filler
- Scissors
Hands on craft
- We fold the sheet in half on the bottom side. We spread it over a large area. I have preferred to put it on the floor for comfort. We make sure to square the ends of the sheet well, but don't worry if the edges don't match perfectly. As the old sheets are usually given.
- We make cuts on two of the sides of the sheet, making sure that we cut the two bent parts at the same height.
- We will go knotting the sheet with the help of the strips that we have done with the cuts. This way we will go closing the sides of the sheet without sewing.
- When we have two sides finished, we turn the sheet to have the face of it on the outside. We pull a bit of the 'seam' that the knots have formed.
- We take the filling and we put it inside distributing it well.
- At this point we have two options. On one hand, leave the sheet like that tucking in the side that has not been closed. On the other hand, close this side by making cuts again to generate strips and making the knots on the inside of the sheet. I have opted for the first option because it is easier to remove the sheet.
I hope you cheer up and do this craft. It has gotten me out of a tight spot.
