Fun hats for parties

We have created these funny hats or outfits to create an illusion that you will like. They are super simple and made with materials that we can easily find. The main materials are cardboard, craft pipe cleaners and pompons. Everything is joined with hot silicone since it is easy to access so that everything sticks at the moment. This task can be done with children, so that they learn to handle practical and constructive ideas with their hands.

The materials that have been used for two fun hats:

2 pieces of cardboard of different colors, about 80 cm long.
Pieces of colored cardboard to make strips.
4 pipe cleaners of different colors, including some metallic.
4 big eyes.
2 large pom poms in different colours.
8 medium pompoms of different colors.
8 small pompoms in different colors.
Hot silicone and his gun.
Scissors.
Pencil.
Ruler.

First step:

We measure the circumference of a head. We transfer the length along the cardboard that we will cut out as a hat. We will also measure 5 centimeters wide. Lo we cut.

Second step:

In the middle of the cardboard strip, we glue the two big eyes and the big pompom as a nose.

Third step:

We take the marker and go twisting the pipe cleaner to shape it into a curl. We will do it with the 4 pipe cleaners and we will cut them in half to obtain 8 units. We glued the medium and small pompoms between the pipe cleaners to give creativity.

Fourth step:

We turn the cardboard strips over and add silicone to start gluing the pipe cleaner strips. When we have them glued, we finish them with another glob of silicone.

Fifth step:

We take the colored cardboard and go making strips 1 centimeter wide. On the back of the cardboard strip, we will add hot silicone to go gluing all the strips.

Step Six:

When we have them glued, we will cut its entire length linearly. They do not need to be at the same height either, they can be somewhat uneven. so that it has a better effect. Then with our hands we will twist the strips to form a little curl.
