In this tutorial I teach you to create a bowl shaped monstera leaf, which is so fashionable in the decoration of homes and celebrations. You do not need to find a real sheet, just printing the silhouette of one is enough.
Materials
To make the bowl in the shape of monstera leaf you will need the following materials:
- Monstera leaf drawing
- Air drying clay
- Clay knife
- Acrylic paint
- Bowl
- Varnish
- Parchment paper or greaseproof paper
Step by step
Start looking for e printing a monstera leaf. You can search the internet for "monstera leaf silhouette" and you will come up with a few options. Cut the silhouette so that you can mark it later. Smooth the clay with a roller.
Place the template of the monstera leaf on the clay sheet and mark the silhouette with a knife or any sharp object.
You cut it carefully and separate the excess clay. With the same knife mark the lines of the sheet. One in the center vertically and the others through the outgoing of the sheet.
Place a bowl face down with a sheet of baking paper o vegetable paper covering it. Place the sheet on it with the marked lines facing down. After 24-48 hours it will be dry.
To paint together 2 or 3 shades of Verde without mixing them at all. Hit the indentations of the lines with the darkest color to give them depth and realism.
Finally, protect your bowl with a varnish. You can use it glossy, satin or matte, depending on the finish you want to give your bowl.
And you will have your finished bowl for decorate any space in your house. With the holes it has you will not be able to store small objects, but it is more a decorative element than a useful one. Even so, you can use it by placing it at the entrance to leave the cards, for example.
