You can do many things with wool, and with wires too. A combination of both gives us many possibilities and arguments. And for that very reason today I bring you how to make pendants with wool and wire. With its shapes, we can decorate from the doors of a closet as I did, to mobiles, figurines or as far as our imagination reaches.
So without further ado, I'll show you how I did it.
Materials
- Wool of different colors
- Wire thread
- Scissors
Our Process
- With the wire we make polygonal shapes according to our preferences. For complex shapes, use a single thread. If the shape you will make is simpler, you can give them a little more robustness with two passes of thread. Depending on the thickness of the clear wire, the one I have is fine.
- Start by tying the yarn to the figure you have made. Cut the ends as much as you can and help disguise it.
- Flip the outline of each shape with the yarn. Do it with a little separation and then make a second round, following the area that has been left with space when passing the wool. It is less laborious, and it is more uniform, than not doing a single lap.
- For the last step, entangle the figure by crossing the thread around its contours. Do not tighten it too much, because otherwise it will be difficult for you to regain the shape you had given it.
- And finally, repeat the process for each piece that you have made with wire thread. You can make the same figure or not, or the same color for all of them or not. That's a matter of taste.
And they are ready to decorate the closet! Or the wall, or any other piece of furniture, or even to make a hanging mobile.
