Good Morning. Gift dates are approaching and in Crafts.ON we give you ideas to inspire you if you have the idea of giving handcrafted details, even to make them yourself.
Some time ago I showed you how to make a felt keychain. In today's craft we are going to see how to make a man-shaped keychain, perfect to give a boy on these dates. It is so easy to do that even children can do it with our supervision.
Makings:
The materials that we will need are very simple:
- Macrame rope.
- Scissors.
- Cigarette lighter.
- Ring.
Processing:
The first thing we are going to do is gather the material, I have used two types of cord, a thicker one to form the body and a thinner mouse tail to assemble the body.
- We pass the ring through the cord fatter, we will need about 30 cm. to perform the head and legs. We will start with the body with the finest cord, we will use about 40 cm. We make the first knot as the picture shows.
- We tighten the knot.
- We continue with the next knot, this time on the other side, as seen in the image.
- We squeeze the next knot.
- We continue like this up to about seven knots.
- We bring these knots towards the ring, thus leaving the shape of the head.
- We tie knots at the ends of the arms and legs, thus getting the hands and feet. We cut what is left over with the scissors.
- Last we burn the end of the cord with a lighter so that it does not fray.
And ready we have our keychain to give as a gift. You can either put some keys on it or we can also put it in the backpack for school.
