Orange slices made with polymer clay

orange orange

Surely you have seen in countless craft fairs fruits made in polymer clay. They use them to make key chains, pendants, earrings, rings ... and at this time of year they look great giving a special touch to any outfit we wear.

This craft is quite complicated so if you don't get it right the first time, don't despair. Will orange slices but you can use the same technique for countless fruits.

Materials

  1. Polymer clay of three colors (orange, yellow and white).
  2. Cutter or cutter.
  3. Machine to smooth or, failing that, a glass bottle.

Our Process

First we will mix a little polymer clay yellow with orange. To mix it, it is important that we are clear that the degraded we have to stay in the center of the orange. So we will make two strips of clay and mix them only for one part. If we have straightener You can make the gradient with this by superimposing one color on the other in the area where we want the gradient to be. This part is surely the most complicated since making sure that not everything is degraded is complicated.

Then we will give the strip we have formed into a drop shape and cut it into eight pieces that we will cover with a thin layer of polymer clay white that we will have previously smoothed. In the center we will put a white strip.

We will place the eight pieces forming a round one and we will cover them with a white strip and a slightly thicker orange one. Then we will roll it a little so that everything is well united.

Finally we can cut it into fine pieces of orange to make beads for earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc.

Greetings and see you next time DIY.
