Painting cardboard or marquetry board like wood

Hello everybody! In today's craft we are going to see how to make this wood finish how well it will come for us to make many crafts such as paintings, posters, put photos or even for some furniture.

Do you want to know how you can do it?

Materials that we will need to make a wood effect base

  • White and brown or grayish acrylic paint. If you are going to paint on wood, you can use other types of paints as long as they are suitable for wood. In the same way, if we are going to paint on cardboard, we can use other types of paint that are suitable. The important thing is that the paints we choose are not very liquid or dry very quickly.
  • Wide brush
  • Jar with water
  • Jar lid and another container that can be thrown away later (we will use it to put the paint)

Hands on craft

  1. Once we have chosen the base on which we are going to make this wood effect, we are going to put it on a smooth and straight surface horizontally, since we want to handle the paint well. The ideal is to protect the surface well with fabrics or plastics to avoid staining the table or the floor where we have installed.
  2. We prepare all the materials, to have everything at hand.
  3. We are going to take the white paint and we are going to put it along the entire base (in my case it is a marquetry table). Once we have the white paint we are going to put a drop of brown or gray. We must be quick at this point so that the marks of the drops that we put do not remain.

  1. We moisten the brush and we are going to start making brush strokes from one side to the other, reaching to the plastic, this is to avoid the mark of posing and / or lifting the brush ... which we need is that the bristles of the brush are marked to make the effect of the wood grain. We can moisten the brush every little while to make our work easier.

  1. Once the paint is well spread, we will put a little bit on the top of the bottle and we will add some more brushstrokes in certain areas that may be sparser.
  2. Once we like the result, we are done, it only remains let it dry well.

And ready!

I hope you cheer up and do this craft.
